Priolo (Sicilia)- L’hanno visto in tanti il mare color del mercurio
il 10 settembre scorso su quella che fu, un tempo, la costa degli Dei.
Sikani e Siculi, pacifici coloni megaresi e mercanti punici, oltre
tremila anni fa, celebravano la Vita a Thapsos e in quelle terre che
galleggiavano sulle dolci acque di un’immenso lago sotterraneo...
Questa natura generosa permise fioriture di civiltà almeno fino alla
caduta della Siracusa di Archimede nella trappola di Roma, che
saccheggiò la pentapoli aretusea e ridusse la Sicilia in granaio e
galera di schiavi, i quali si rivoltarono in più occasioni restituendo
all’uomo la dignità che un Potere devastante gli aveva sottratto. |

| Questa Sicilia ne ha
viste di tutti i colori...ma il mare color del mercurio, e i pesci
morti, e i criaturi che nascono deformi, e i nostri amici di Priolo, e
Melilli, ed Augusta, e Belvedere... che a quarantanni se li porta via
il cancro fulminante, accuddhì... tutto questo non s’era mai visto.
Il sottosuolo è stato svuotato d’acqua pura dall’idrovora del

della Regione ammucciato ora non so dove, ma c’è!). Il novanta per
cento dei rifiuti speciali prodotti in Sicilia finiscono non si sa
dove, in violazione di ogni legge e di ogni regola di buon senso.

addirittura dal 1949 che il CVM è segnalato come epatossico, causa del
morbo di Raynaud e altre sciagure. La Corte marziale ci vuole e il
reato è quello di strage! |

Ecco: la Verità ci serve, tutta. Per
restituire questo pezzo di Sicilia alla sua Bellezza originaria. E la
Regione non faccia "spettacolo" annunciando di volersi costituire
parte civile, veda piuttosto di porre fine alla cecità, di star vicina
alle famiglie delle vittime che in massa, loro, dovrebbero costituirsi
parte civile; la Regione, la Politica siciliana tutta, veda di
elaborare un avvenire post-industriale per l’area siracusana, magari
alzando uno sguardo siciliano sul Mondo, per scoprire che in Germania,
nella Ruhr, che fu il cuore dell’industria tedesca (carbone ecc.),
hanno messo in campo e realizzato in soli 10 anni ben 120 progetti
integrati per la riconversione in polo culturale, turistico, per la
ricerca e perfino per l’ecologia. Sarebbe la cosa da fare, ma non fra
centanni. Intanto il mare ha ancora il color del mercurio e l’aria il
sapore della morte.

associazione ambientalista che promuove campagne nazionali coi danari

Nella petrolchimica lo scenario è da sempre
globale...Anche stavolta ciò che accade in Sicilia, accade nel Mondo.
Ma neanche nella disperata Nigeria una multinazionale si può
permettere di fare quello che stanno facendo in Sicilia e nel modo in
cui lo stanno facendo. E la logica da petrolkiller è la stessa che,
dai tempi di Cefis, punta solo a massimizzare i profitti considerando

In questi ultimi decenni di saccheggio

rifiuti nocivi della petrolchimica: e non ci si venga a dire che è

fetenti ce ne siano molte anche qui, questa non è in Sicilia.
